Canon C-300
The head of some division at Canon corporate contacted us and wanted to know if KCW™ technica gear really works as well with Canon cameras as seen in our videos. To which we replied “does a bear wipe it’s ass with a rabbit that have no issues with sh*t sticking to it’s fur?”. We received a C-300 from Canon today.
Not entirely true, but we have seen a bear wipe it’s ass with a rabbit. OK, that’s not entirely true neither.
But Canon did contact us and sent us a C-300 which we will be using with our gear. Videos coming shortly.
Hi
This looks like a brilliant solution to the dilemma of PL C300 or EF C300. Will this work on all PL Lenses? or silly question/
thanks
Will
V1A & V2A will securely mount majority of PL lenses onto any camera body with EF mount. But the FFD does not allow for all cinema lenses to achieve infinite focus.
Only adapter that will correct for focus is V3AE or V3TiE. http://kcwtechnica.com/v3ae-or-v3ti-vote/

Hi,
So what exactly is the differens betwene V3AE or V3TiE on my Canon C300?
999 dollars is ok. But 2750 for a Titanium is to mutch for anyone Im afraid.
Thanks for a great product. At what date will this be able to buy?
/Conny
Conny,
Interesting wording in your question. V3AE or V3TiE won’t make much of a difference directly on your C300. But the difference is due the obvious material(s) used.
Titanium is lighter and stronger than Aluminum, hence the obvious higher costs on the raw material. Due this strength, the tooling used wear out faster and are also higher priced.
What that translates to is how much abuse V3TiE will take compared to V3AE. And do you believe the Canon EF mount will be discontinued, phased-out or rendered useless in the next 10 years? Would suggest you look at the amount of EF lenses in existence today as well as the camera bodies that are employing the EF mount.
Currently we are preparing V3TiE as a Limited Release as we have direct requests from studio-based professional customers.
We are working as fast as we’re able to have V3AE release before December 2012.
Thank you so very much!

Thanks for your reply;)
I hope to soon see your images taken with the C300 and this EF-PL mount.
Im in process of buying the 2 cine zoom 2.8 for my C300. I would be interested in your product so I can get future proof pl mount on them. But why 1T stop of loss? Is it true?? A lot lost when you have 2.8 lens…
For V1A & V2A there are no stop losses. The estimated 1 stop loss is for V3AE and V3TiE due the element. Thank you!
Hi,
you say somewhere that it doesn’t goes to infinite focus with certain lens… Im ready to buy!
Wish is the best between V1A & V2A??
Does it work perfectly with Cnaon C300, PL Cooke Panchro and PL 2.8 New light weight cine zoom(15.5-45 & 30-105)
Thank you
All adapters will fit specified mounts. V1A & V2A each are designed are different lenses, there is not “one” best. V3AE and V3Tie for PL to EF will correct for collimation without modifications.

Please perform manual lens test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfIx1-OcYQg
If result is what you desire, then determine whether lens PL rings is less or greater than 14mm. If lesser V1A, if greater V2A. Would suggest you purchase both for variety of lenses. And if interested in V3A as well, please email us directly and we will place you on the pre-order list.
Thank you!
Hi,
What do you mean by the PL rings are less or greater than…? Don’t get me wrong, I just say that in a constructive way, you should really change the way your website is made. I been looking for infos everywhere and there is none! What work with what? with mount to use?? It very confusing! And I guess you end up doing all the infos work yourself…
Can you PLEASE tell me if your mount is working with C300 EF, Cooke Panchro PL and Canon Cine zoom 15,5-45mm and 30-105mm PL??????
Don’t you think you should know if it work? This is very common and appreciated cine tools out there. Just putting this infos on your site would make you sell a lot. I know that a lot of people around me that would.
PLEASE GET BACK TO ME WITH A CLEAR YES OR NO! I will buy you one as soon as you do. Thank you
Thank you for your feedback. We make every effort to provide the best products and educate as best as we are able, however please keep in mind, we are NOT educators, nor do we require any tuition.
As previously many many many many many many many times posted; 1) camera manufacturers, including Canon, does not manufacture cameras to be compatible with PL cine lenses that they do not manufacture themselves. 2) We have tested many lenses and sometimes exact make and model but come up with completely different results due collimation of lens. 3) It takes a bit of educating prior to simply using gear designed for professionals.
Please read: http://kcwtechnica.com/knowledge-ffd-flange-focal-distance-professional-versus-point-and-shoot/
This is a lens ring, or camera plate, whichever name you prefer: http://kcwtechnica.com/shop/pl-mount-plate-1/
If this is lesser then 14mm than V1A, if greater then V2A.
If it is a “simple” matter with a “simple” solution, do you not think 1) you would find adapter rings EVERYWHERE with what “works with what” like building blocks and incredibly cheap? 2) Do you think we would not just “simply” post it? Kindly THINK. We provide “A” solution for professionals, so you should be one or at least have an understanding of how professional gear works.
We sincerely appreciate you attempting to learn prior to purchasing, so we will do everything we are able to provide helpful information. V1A & V2A most likely is not the solution you are seeking. You are welcome to wait for V3AE or V3TiE which will be a simple one “snap on” solution.
Both V1A and V2A will fit onto camera, YES. Depending on depth of PL ring of lens, lens will snap onto V1A or V2A, yes. Whether you will achieve focus, that we encourage you to do manual lens testing.
Best of luck.
I’m assuming with the back focus issue and infinity problem that exist with V1 and V2 that holding focus thru zoom lenses isn’t possible? could you please verify whether or not you can hold focus while you zoom. ie on a canon 15.5-47 or 30-105 or Angeniuex 15-40 or 28-76.
thnx, very excited about the prospects of putting pl zooms on our c300 ef mount camera.
best,
Brad,
We have not attempted with lenses you listed.
Please do conduct tests and share findings with everyone. And we will try and find/post the explanations if we are able.
Thanks!
KCW™
Have you had success with any zoom lens holding focus?
Could I come by your office and test?
thnx
Please send us an email with your contact. Thanks.
Please, guys, I want to know if it is possible to use this adapter with the HDx2 Mark II B4/PL Optical Adapter.
Thanks, and keep the good work!
We have not tested with the specified HDx2 Mark II B4/PL Optical Adapter. Though from the looks of it, securing would not be an issue. Whether the optics will allow you to achieve the focusing results you are seeking, we do not know.
However we will endeavor to test next we have opportunity. If you do, please do share your results by posting on here.
Thank you Rodrigo!!
I bought a few zeiss cp2,
21mm T2.9
35mm ss T1.5
50mm T2.1 makro
85mm ss T1.5
135mm T2.1
Can I use them with V2A on 5D2 and BMCC?
Or should I order V3A?
Thx
Best,
Hi Eddie,
Would recommend you conduct a manual lens test. Put camera into shoot mode and manually hold lens in front of camera. If you get the focus results you desire, then V1A & V2A will work for you.
There are no corrective elements in V1A nor V2A. The focus you see is what you get (unless you make collimation adjustments to lens). Both adapters are designed to securely mount lens to camera body, no corrections to focusing at all.
V3AE and V2TiE are designed with elements that are both swappable and adjustable. We have been working diligently to be able to manufacture at an affordable retail price. We are getting close.
Hope that answers your question.
I don’t understand why all the interest in these v3a adapters for c300’s? i mean just purchase a c300 with a PL instead on a EF mount from new? the emphasis should be on the 7D considering there is no option, apart from $4,000 proper conversion from Hot Rod, which is not an option.
Idea behind adapting is for wider options to use EF lenses IN ADDITION TO PL. Canon has a fantastic line of EF lenses. (From lens to camera, there are very limited sources for EF to PL.)
yeah, but EF are full frame, i dont know why there ever even mentioned in regards to traditional film, they should just stay in stills where they were designed for, i dont want to crop particularly when i like shooting wide. Even Canon mislead there line of CN-E primes as cine lenses, which there NOT, just rehoused stills lenses unlike there compact zooms.
